Mai-Ko-Chum-Phai
festival observed at Pawai Mukh Tai Khamyang Village.Mai-Ko-Chum-Phai the traditional religious festival of Tai community of Buddhist religion is observed at Pawai Mukh Tai Khamyang Village Buddha Monastery of Tinsukia district by the Tai-Khamyang community with day long programme on February 23. This festival is related with the supreme deliverance of lord Buddha. The six clans Ahom, Khamyang, Turung, Khamti, Phake, Aiton of Tai Community, Singphoo and Duwonia of Buddhist religion observed it, on the full moon day between January-February, two months before Buddha Purnima.


According to the followers, this day was observed by Lord Buddha to shortening his life three months before his supreme deliverance. The word Mai-Ku-Chum-Phai means to set fire heap of burning wood. Tall hayricks made of wood and straw are constructed and set fire by following religious customs and traditions.

In Villagers of day long programs of traditional sports, community feast, ritual and cultural programs.
